Program:
R.A.I.N. transportation provides options for older adults and facilitates their ability to live more independently. With the availability of transportation, older adults are to participate in life-enhancing activities, and take care of their day to-day errands, attend necessary medical appointments and generally increase their level of self-sufficiency. RAIN Transportation services Bronx Community Districts 9, 10, 11 and 12 only for Individual and Group services.
Position Summary:
The Transportation Manager has the primary responsibility for ensuring top quality operations of the Individual and Group Transportation Program. This entails ensuring the subcontractor provides quality services that meets the funding standards. Ensures data collection is accurate and entered timely, unit reporting & contribution collection, report writing and supervision of supervisees. This position must supervise the Intake Clerk and uphold reporting procedures related to deliverables and outcomes required by the New York City Aging. The Manager must handle client and staff grievance procedures and meet the reporting mandates. The manager must ensure data integrity, monitor and analyze performance, develop collaboration, referral process and MOUs which are essential to increase productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures and prepares a daily transportation reservation schedule and coordinates efficient pick up and drop offs by applying knowledge of customer schedules, peak times and alternate routes.
- Applies NYC Aging Standards of Operations to daily transportation operations to ensure top quality services.
- Maintains daily communication with transportation sub-contractor to trouble shoot timely.
- Responsible for incident reporting, writing monthly narrative reports and Unit & Contribution Reports. To accomplish this, all data entry must be completed daily, daily contribution count and daily count of successful rides offered.
- Data collection is accurate and is analyzed to ensure non-repeated users. ‘
- Program Manager engages in presentations, seeking opportunities for linkages and Memorandums of Understanding that could result in successful referrals into the Transportation Program
- Program Manager ensures supervisee is oriented, trained, supervised and managed according to top quality supervisory protocols.
- Operates the incoming call with excellent customer service skills, responds expeditiously with internal and external contact.
- Answers multi-line telephone maintains a professional office environment and professional relations with customers and other employees.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage time effectively, organized and flexible.
- Self-starter, community-minded with strong relationships or “people skills.”

- Ensures follow up to emergency preparedness plan as per NYC Aging and RAIN management guidance.
- Ensures at least 85% program utilizations by managing the appropriate steps to achieve results.
- Must be comfortable reaching targets and goals with minimum supervision.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination and review of delivery personnel.
- Provides guidance and direction to employees to assist in their professional development.
Qualifications

Minimum qualification: -an associate degree in human service Field, Social Work or health related field strongly recommended. At least three years of direct experience in transportation and working with vulnerable populations. 2

Experience in providing services to culturally diverse communities. Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience.
