Duties
- Assess patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine their occupational therapy needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients improve their functional abilities
- Provide therapeutic interventions to address deficits in activities of daily living, mobility, and fine motor skills
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to enhance independence and safety
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements
Skills
- Acute care: Ability to provide occupational therapy services in acute care settings, such as emergency departments or intensive care units.
- Occupational health: Knowledge of occupational health principles and practices, including ergonomics and workplace injury prevention.
- Critical care: Ability to provide specialized occupational therapy interventions for critically ill patients.
- Physiology knowledge: Understanding of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to occupational therapy interventions.
- Patient service: Strong focus on providing excellent patient-centered care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
