Behavioral Specialist
Coastal Connections, Inc. is currently seeking a Behavioral Specialist for our agency in Amesbury, MA. Being a Behavioral Specialist for us means advocating & working towards assisting the individuals we support by facilitating plans, goals, and positive supports necessary to assist the individual in progression towards their desired outcomes. This is a PART-TIME, CONSULTANT position 10-15 hours/month
Responsibilities:
- Provides consultation for an individual's behavioral and affective development.
- Works with direct care staff to support the members identified needs by providing guidance and plans.
- If needed, develop specific intervention to be carried out by direct Care Staff.
- Identifies areas to better utilize Universal Supports and helps educate, as needed, direct care staff.
- Currently, Coastal Connections does not accept members with intensive behavior support plans. Support is needed around behavior that is not an imminent risk.
- Prepares and maintains work setting, equipment, and supplies in accordance with health and safety requirements and agency policies.
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities and in function-based behavioral assessments.
- Training in positive behavioral supports (PBS).
- Licensed in Massachusetts as one of the following:
-A Psychologist
-A Clinical Social Worker
-An Applied Behavior Analyst
-Masters or doctorate level teacher with certification in Special Ed.
-Licensed Mental Health Counselor
