Primary Purpose of this Position:

The North Carolina Zoo is looking to hire two Administrative Assistants to join either the Zoo's Communications and Marketing or Zoo General Curator's team. The positions report to either the Director of Communications and Marketing or Zoo General Curator.
The Zoo Administrative Assistants provide administrative support, such as office management, prepare travel documents, schedule meetings and reservations, purchasing, maintain work orders, maintain and distribute staff documents, track and reconcile budgets, ensure adherence to state budgetary rules and regulations, files, and creates reports. Other duties may include preparing presentations, and arranging tours of the North Carolina Zoo.
Position Requirements:

Work schedule - Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 and some weekends or evenings as needed for special events.

Must be able to multi-task and adhere to deadlines.

Must have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization, and problem-solving.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal; ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience; ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.

Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.

Must have and be able to maintain a NC Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Demonstrated working experience monitoring and reconciling budgets.

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Demonstrated experience of data collection, data entry, storage, organization, manipulation and/or analysis of data.
Management Preference-
Proficient in the operation of a wide range of office equipment—such as computers, projectors, printers, and multi-line phone system.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
