Job Summary: The Operator is responsible for the day to day operation of the various machines to produce our products. Operators rotate through the various stations including: pailing, warehousing, vintage reactors, filling, mixing, bulk handling, hot cast and dispersion. Additionally, Operators are responsible for cleaning vessels, basic machine maintenance, and control of the flammable storage area.
Job Responsibilities: Key responsibilities/expectations for this role will include:
Level 1
Prepares pailing station, stages materials
Ensures stretch wraps are consistent and up to shipping standards
Safely operates computers, devices, and machinery used in chemical blending utilizing the proper handling and management of materials & products
Loads specified amounts of chemicals into processing equipment, closely following product recipes
Monitors operating conditions
Cleans reactors and vessels
Packages and stocks finished products according to directives and procedures
Level 2
Ensures transportation documentation is accurate for outgoing and incoming materials
Unloads bulk tanker trucks and transfers material to outgoing bulk tanker trucks
Cleans hoses
Disposes of waste
Processes tanker load outs
Level 3
Ensures hot cast reactor, mixer, and disperser is prepped for each new product
Requires cleaning of reactors, vessels, pumps, values, and transfers lines
Inspects heat tracers to ensure proper temperatures are maintained
Follows step-by-step instructions to ensure product specifications are correct including but not limited to:
Sets appropriate mixing speed and temperature of reactor and transfer lines
Adds multiple materials as directed
Monitors operating conditions
Packages finished product as directed
Hot cast area: Fills tanker trucks, cleans out tanker loading pipelines, and changes filter bags daily
Handles bulk and small package raw materials

Maintains neat, orderly, clean work environment
Assists with mechanical repairs and maintenance
Assists with planning & completion of projects
Observes and follows safety precautions (PPE, LOTO, CSE)
Ensures the proper handling and management of materials & products
Notifies supervisor or maintenance of equipment malfunctions or concerns
Proactively understands and follows company Management System objectives and procedures relevant to job function (ISO and Responsible Care) including completion of related training initially and ongoing

Qualifications and Skills:
Experience making complex mixtures and compounds on multiple stations preferred
Ability to work well with a team, work in tight areas including crawling underneath disperser to clean vessels and lines
Ability to multitask but maintain attention to detail
Interface with DCS/Computer
Lift 50-70 lbs. objects including climbing latter to add ingredients to disperser
Operate multiple PIV’s (fork trucks and lifts)
Understand grounding and bonding
Must pass pre-employment background screening, including drug testing and fit testing for respirator mask
