We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shelter Counselor/Advocate to join our team and play a crucial role in creating a safe haven for survivors, offering resources, counseling, and empowerment.
The applicant must possess the ability to work within a residential/shelter setting with families in crisis and be able to work independently within established professional, ethical boundaries. You will also provide trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention, facilitate support groups, and create a secure and nurturing environment for survivors on their journey to healing and independence. The applicant must demonstrate strong decision-making and conflict-resolution skills.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred and or work experience respected. Must complete a required 70-hour crisis intervention training.
