The Director, Product Delivery is responsible for overseeing the product development process. The Director, Product Delivery will manage a team of Product Owners and Scrum Leads who participate in the product (software) development process by defining product vision, prioritizing development work, grooming backlogs, managing sprint scope/timeline, facilitating communication, and removing impediments to development progress.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop a solid knowledge of the existing systems and business processes.
Work with business units to understand the business drivers and strategy.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Oversee process for a portfolio of software development projects.
Lead cross-discipline initiatives to define and promote agile processes for designing and delivering new solutions and application enhancements.
Partner with managers of Developers and Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) to collaborate on goals, status, resource allocation, and budget. Collaborate with managers of Developers and BSAs to align business vision with emerging technology.
Communicate and coordinate with business leads to navigate conflicting priorities among separate products and/or business units.
Coordinate activities where roadmaps of various products could affect each other either in function overlap and/or resource contention for development work.
Work with Product Owners and business leads to create long-term roadmaps for each product.
Evaluate and monitor progress on products in comparison to vision for each.
Education, Experience, Competencies & Values
B.S., Information Technology or related, required.
7+ years of product owner, product manager, software development management experience.
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) preferred.
Extensive experience with agile development practices, required.
Proven track record of building effective, collaborative relationships with development teams.
Results-oriented at an individual and team level, ambitious, and strong ability to follow-through on commitments.
Able to work collaboratively with various team members, across sponsors, stakeholders, and customers.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to provide appropriate updates, reviews with business owners and management.
Experience managing product backlogs and roadmaps in alignment with corporate strategic goals.
The base salary range is $139,000 - $188,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate including location, skill set, experience, qualifications and education.
