Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, directing, and delegating the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and facility policies.

Qualifications:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing service administration experience.
- Must possess a current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
- Proficiency in nursing and medical practices and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Ability to deal tactfully with customers, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with personnel.
- Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.
- Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Nursing Department.
- Ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
- Directly supervise and instruct nursing staff on various topics to promote job knowledge.
- Identify problems, develop, and implement solutions with the assistance of the Administration.
- Develop and implement a nursing/rehab/restorative philosophy that promotes quality care for each resident.
- Ensure adequate staff on all shifts.
- Conduct audits of charts and EHR to ensure daily documentation is done.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of laboratory and x-ray reports.
- Develop a written plan of care for each customer.
- Attend and actively participate in resident care plan conferences.
- Recruit, interview, and select nursing staff with the approval of the Administrator.
- Schedule department work hours and personnel to expedite work.
- Counsel and discipline staff as necessary.
- Make daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing required duties.
- Ensure professional nursing personnel have valid and current licenses.
- Attend various meetings (Department Head, Infection Control, Quality Assurance, etc.) as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Monday to Friday, with weekend coverage as needed.
