Retail Team Member
Wage - $13.00 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
Come and join our amazing Retail Team at Thanksgiving Point! In this position you will be an essential part of keeping our 5 gift shops stocked, priced and looking beautiful for our guests!
Our Mission at Thanksgiving Point is to bring the joy of learning and wonders of the natural world to life! As a team member, not only will you help bring this mission to life with our guests, but you will also benefit firsthand from the discovery, nature, and fun! Our team members receive:
- Free and discounted visits to our 5 venues
- Discounts on food, retail, summer camps and classes
- Free or discounted tickets to nearly 50 Thanksgiving Point events (like Tulip Festival and Luminaria)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive and process orders as they arrive (including printing tags, pricing, separating, delivering and merchandising the product in the retail stores)
- Assist in keeping stores clean, faced, and dusted
- Re-stock stores as needed with backstock product
- Assist in conducting physical inventory counts.
- Transfer merchandise among stores as needed.
- Act as a cashier when needed
- Any other duties assigned by Supervisor
REQUIRED SKILLS
- A desire to interact with guests and team members in various situations, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must complete “Guest Experience Training” and work to develop and demonstrate guest service skills and abilities
- Able to readily learn cash register/point of sale and money handling skills
- Some Saturday and Holiday shifts are required (both day and evening shifts are available)
- Physical requirements: able to lift 50 pounds unassisted as well as heavier items with the aid of carts and hand trucks.
