Greystone Automotive Group is an automotive service leader focused on providing the highest level of customer service. We are looking for Automotive Service Advisors / Writers for our locations in the Galleria & Sugar Land. The candidate will provide a World Class Customer Service Experience to all internal & external customers on the phone, in person and throughout the entire repair process. Service Advisor is the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the repair process from the point of drop-off through the delivery of the completed vehicle. The candidate is responsible for coordinating communications with all other (internal & external) stakeholders during the repair process.

Responsibilities:
- Ascertain automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules
- Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions
- Develop estimates by costing parts and labor required for the repair order
- Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required
- Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation
- Remain current on new products and changes to existing products
- Assure proper repair-order flow/maximize productivity
- Maintain daily sales and production records
- Order parts daily from suppliers to meet service and repair requirements
- Monitor automotive repair/maintenance to prevent operational delays
- Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
- Communicate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Work with General Manager to set automotive center objectives
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications
- Enhance the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Must be a team player with the ability to lead, not just delegate
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an automotive repair facility
- 2 plus years of supervisory experience
- Professional personal appearance
- Previous industry knowledge of overall operations, management and wholesale relations (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient knowledge of TekMetrix estimating software
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations, repair terminology and processes
- Proficient computer skills for record keeping and inventory management
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school not required but a plus
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a plus but not required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under company insurance policy
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
- Shuttle customers as needed
