Overview
Summary:
The Executive Director of Patient Care Services reports to the Chief Nurse Executive and has responsibility for the organization and coordination of Boone Health inpatient nursing operations and services. This position works with Emergency Services and the Critical Care team. The position has responsibility to assist with planning, organizing, staffing, budgeting, directing, and controlling the accomplishment of short-term and long-term nursing service objectives.
Responsibilities:

Serves as a senior nursing leader to Boone Health and represents the hospital in planning and initiatives by assisting with development of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that align with the hospital’s mission and vision statement

Develops and fosters effective collaboration across patient care services clinical departments and other affiliated services to ensure integrated approach to providing clinical care and fulfilling clinical goals and objectives while developing, implementing, and monitor quality patient outcome metrics.

Directs personnel functions of ICU, PCU, ED, and EMS including recruiting, hiring and retention of the nursing staff, handling disciplinary actions, and ensure that all applicable policies and procedures are effectively enacted.

Provide administrative direction to management staff within areas of responsibility including supporting plan development, priority-setting, decision-making, and professional development.

Works with CNE to analyze budgetary trends and nurse leaders in developing strategies for budget variances and implements strategies to increase revenue and decrease costs

Provides quality service that meet the regulatory and accreditation requirements and ensures that services are delivered safely and effectively.

Participates in the creation and implementation of a visionary strategic agenda for nursing which links clinical and education initiatives that is tied to Boone Health’s strategic plan.

Maintain compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory rules and requirements established by state and federal agencies as well as those of voluntary accrediting bodies to ensure continued compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s required (nursing preferred); other related Master’s degrees considered (e.g., MBA, MHSA).

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri.

Ten years of progressive nursing management experience

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly

Proven nursing leadership skills and nursing care knowledge gained from progressively responsible roles in a hospital setting.
