PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - UROLOGY DEPARTMENT
Overview
TJH Medical Services is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (PA) to provide exceptional patient care, in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing.
Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant will be expected to:
- Perform a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering of medications and diagnostics.
- Works collaboratively with supervising physician(s) and care team in a timely manner with respect, and with the goals of patient-centered safety and quality as a priority.
- Participate in daily rounds with an attending physician and develop/implement clinical care plans for each patient based on their specific needs and enter necessary orders.
- Provides consultation to nursing and ancillary medical teams and staff of patient condition and plan of care.
- Perform detailed physical exams
- Perform bedside procedures within their scope of practice
- Hold and/or participate in family meetings
- Demonstrate accurate and timely documentation of detailed patient history and physical exams, consults and daily progress notes
- Assists patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care
- Shows competency and continued practice in privileges associated to area of clinical care.
- Complete mandatory MediSys Health Network training as assigned
- Knowledge and adherence of clinical and institutional policy and procedure related to clinical practice and hospital/practice site operations.
- Treat all patients and co-workers with dignity and respect
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of PA expereience preferably in Urology and OR Surgical Specialty
- Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs (ARC-PA) program, required.
- Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification, required
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $132,252.00 - $148,783.50 per year
