Summary: The primary responsibly of the Store Manager is to oversee the operations and profitability of the store.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Store Operations:
- Maintaining the store’s inventory levels to ensure that the store is stocked appropriately and aligns with budget targets.
- Ensure customers needs and expectations are consistently met.
- Effectively resolve customer issues.
- Manage inventory and control loss through properly following inventory standards operating procedures.
- Must be able to consistently minimize and control expenses.
- Ensure proper opening and closing of the store in accordance with company policy.
- Complete all reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure merchandising standards are established and followed for window displays, sales floor displays, promotional displays etc.
- Maintain the physical appearance of the store at all times.
- Ensure the store is properly staffed and trained to provide the best product knowledge and service for customers shopping experience.
- Help when needed with store activities such as assisting customers, unloading of trucks, stocking shelves and carrying merchandise out for the customer.
Financial Management:
- Understand and utilize various business measures: P& L, sales, revenue, expenses, payroll and inventory to grow the business.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking procedures in accordance with company standards. Resolve problems as necessary.
- Understand and follow the company’s purchasing policies and procedures.
- Ensure that commercial accounts are properly set up and administered.
Marketing and Sales:
- Responsible for the coordination of sales efforts associated with the store.
- Responsible for the development and deployment of local marketing strategies.
- Responsible for attainment of the budgeted sales forecast through effective marketing of products in store.
- Develop new accounts and increase sales of current accounts through targeted sales initiatives.
Human Resources/Leadership:
- Actively participates in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of store personnel as needed.
- Is able to clearly set expectations/responsibilities for employees and establish a strong team spirit.
- Provides direct and timely feedback weather it be positive or for corrective action.
- Conducts meaningful performance reviews and meets program timeline.
- Provides guidance and feedback to help employees achieve personal and business objectives.
- Qualifications:
- Requires a two or four year college degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 4 years retail experience.
- Must be able to leverage sales techniques to enhance the customer experience while maximizing profits.
- Ability to drive for results by using sound judgment and timely decision making.
- Ability to lead.
- Solid Human Resource Skills.
- Strong financial planning, management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated customer service and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills a must.
- Basic computer skills.
- Job involves a wide variety of tasks including bending, lifting, and sitting. Individual must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lift and move 75 pounds.
- Individual will usually be required to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
