Job Description:
We’re seeking a committed individual who shares our dedication to enhancing the well-being of our senior community to join us as a Life Enrichment Assistant. As a supportive member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting the planning, organization, and execution of recreational activities that promote socialization and overall wellness for our residents in assisted living and memory care settings. Creativity, patience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt and assist are essential in engaging participants and creating a vibrant environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Supportive Skills: Demonstrate supportive skills by assisting in the planning, organizing, and execution of activities for our senior residents, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
- Proactive and Organized: Anticipate the needs of our residents and assist in planning activities accordingly, ensuring all planned activities occur as scheduled.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Foster strong interpersonal connections with our senior residents, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all interactions.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in basic computer skills is required.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly and assist in generating alternative activities if needed.
- Community Involvement: Encourage community involvement and work effectively with volunteers to enhance resident experiences.
- Supervision: Assist in ensuring residents are supervised at all times during planned groups and outings.
- Ability to Work Independently: Be self-motivated and capable of assisting in identifying, planning, and prioritizing tasks independently.
- Varied Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Develop, print, and post daily informational schedules on bulletin boards as directed by the Activity Director.
- Advertise activity schedules to co-workers in other departments.
- Follow instructions for implementation of group activities as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper use of supplies and equipment in community rooms, public areas, memory care units, and activity offices.
- Assist in facility decoration including seasonal/holiday decorations, informational signs, art projects, and photograph displays.
- Collaborate with other departments for positive and appropriate displays and decorations.
- Assist in the development of a written plan of care for each resident that identifies the problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each problem/need identified.
- Ensure that adequate supplies are available to meet the necessity of activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in recreational activities, senior living, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work specifically in assisted living and memory care settings.
- Pleasant, positive personality with the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills with the capacity to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and follow scheduled activity planning.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Schedule:
- This position requires flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, and holidays as needed.
