As the Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing, analyzing, modifying, and designing new programs and maintaining existing programs. This includes coding, testing, debugging, installing and documenting software applications. You will be performing intermediate systems analysis in one or more systems and writing technical documentation to describe program design and processing logic and documentation for users to describe operating procedures. Additionally, working with the software developer partners, the chief infrastructure and architectural heads to ensure that the application meets company service level standards and roadmap requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and support high-quality software solutions for user-facing websites and applications.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, software engineers, solution architects and supporting teams to define product requirements and system design.
- Engages in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives and hackathons.
- Provides unit testing of all coding changes with the goal of providing a stable production environment.
- Works with individuals on your team to create and follow established coding standards, workflow, or tool standards.
- Assuring quality, security, business continuation plan and compliance requirements are met and documented for supported area.
- Improves the performance of applications via load and stress testing.
- Creates or maintain documentation for departmental procedures, training and user guides.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related.
- Experience with translating business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements.
- Good to excellent understanding of entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process & practice expectations, including specification, documentation, code review, unit testing and quality assurance.
- Knowledge and understanding of project management methodology used in Agile development projects.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Preferred experience or aptitude to learn (any experience would be a plus):
- Java or C#
- Web development experience (HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, Angular)
- Experience with development, build and deployment tooling (e.g. Maven, Git, Bitbucket, RAD/Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDE)
- Service development experience (e.g. SOAP, REST)
- Relational databases and SQL
