LVW is hiring an Onsite Maintenance Technician located in the Alexandria / Mt. Vernon, VA area. This individual will be responsible for the preventative and repair of installed physical security systems comprised of active vehicle barriers, passive barriers, as well as small infrastructure to buildings such as door locks, light bulbs, and outlets. Have knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems and issues. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated manufacturing systems is preferred. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and hydraulic equipment while constantly demonstrating safe work practices. This role will create value by performing preventative and corrective maintenance allowing for the site to always maintain adequate and necessary security. Customer service skills a must. Liaise with Government personnel and provide clear, accurate, and timely communication regarding repairs and schedules.
What Your Role Will Be
Responsibilities:
- Complete work tasks and repair orders in a timely fashion
- Estimate time and extent of repairs needed
- Perform routine preventive maintenance
- Maintain material and supply inventory
- Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary
- Troubleshooting and repairing electric/electronic equipment, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshooting common low voltage DC circuits.
- Working in a self-directed manner with little supervision
The Expertise You Will Bring
Requirements:
- 40 hour work / On call weekends Total week not to exceed 40hrs without authorization
- Clean background with ability to obtain appropriate government security clearances.
- The Lead Technician shall have a minimum of (5) years of experience in the installation, operation, and testing of similar systems.
- Three (3) years of experience shall be supervisory experience.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance routines and practices
- Willing and able to work in various outdoor and indoor environments
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations including wearing safety equipment
What Will Put You Ahead
- Two (2) year technical degree in electrical field
- Experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system
- Experience operating a motorized forklift, LUL and/or clamp truck
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience with PLC controls
Education:
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's or Associated degree preferred
- Work Experience in Field of Work Equivalent
