Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree a related discipline or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience with progressive responsibilities in a logistics/transportation environment
- Highly analytical with the ability to understand and resolve complex operational issues
- Strong interpersonal skills and development of associates
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present complex information to large groups
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, not limited to audit and budgeting
- Strong technical skills as it relates to web-based applications/programs with the ability to learn and master different operating systems
- Excellent leadership and project management skills

- Develop and implement transportation plans and strategies for the Kroger transportation network
- Support regional fleet coordination between DCs, vendors, manufacturing plants, and stores
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to transportation safety (DOT) and environmental standards
- Support transportation crisis management within assigned region
- Champion driver technology/innovation projects within assigned region
- Analyze network opportunities to improve operational effectiveness as measured against key performance indicators and drive down transportation costs
- Partner with corporate support teams to maintain and improve overall network customer satisfaction as it relates to the delivery experience, efficiencies, level of service, and costs
- Establish relationship with network strategy teams and advise/work to optimize geographical offering to improve product flow, increase backhaul revenue, optimize inbound and outbound routing
- Process standardization across all sites including organization and maintenance of the playbook, process flows, and implementation packages
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to identify and implement transportation/freight synergies within the region
- Travel within the Kroger network as needed to support regional transportation needs
