The Tax Manager Accountant is responsible for management and review of tax preparation, tax research, and planning with minimal supervision. The tax manager will work directly with clients and assist/supervise tax staff personnel with preparation of tax returns and research. This person will also work directly with the Tax Partners on more complex tax returns and planning.
The right candidate will be willing and able to:
· Prepare and review complex and multi-state tax returns
· Manage the workflow and review of tax returns
· Assist and supervise tax staff in the preparation of tax returns and research
· Respond to tax notices from taxing authorities
· Research current tax issues and laws
· Meet with clients as needed
What You’ll Need:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
· 7+ years of prior public accounting experience
· CPA certification
· Strong organization, problem-solving and analytical skills
· Diligent work ethic and dedication to providing superior client service
· Excellent communication skills – oral, written, and interpersonal
· Proficiency in corporate, partnership, and individual tax return preparation and tax planning
· Ability to review interim and annual financial statements
· Experience in managing multiple client engagements at the same time
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
· Lacerte tax software is preferred but not required
· Prior basic supervisory experience
· Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
