We are seeking a candidate to fill a manufacturing support role in the Pulp, Power & Recovery Center of Excellence (CoE). This position will be remote. The position will report to Manager of Fiberline and Recaust CoE, and will work with multiple groups and disciplines throughout operations to improve asset performance and reliability.
Our Team
Utilization of PBM® and Frameworks to proactively support the development and execution of improvement plans for the Pulp manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive results, creating superior value to meet GP's manufacturing vision.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with constituents in Operations, Engineering, and Businesses teams
- Perform benchmarking and gap closure analysis for the asset health and asset performance related to pulping and woodyard operations
- Analyzing existing systems, developing strategies for improving safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality
- Collaborate with remote monitoring resources to develop and optimize monitoring strategies for asset performance and perform gap analysis on existing operations.
- Support facility outages and ensure adherence to good maintenance planning and execution practices
- Accountable for creating value through technical support of multiple mill operations and being a valued resource in their day-to-day operations
- Identifying capital improvement opportunities and partnering with site and external engineering teams on development, execution, and commissioning of capital projects
- Working with operations and other resources to ensure minimum level of qualifications are met to operate and maintain assets.
- Develop in depth technical expertise through self-actualization, intentional continual learning, and apprenticeship with senior staff engineers within group.
- Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance in all activities with the objective of achieving zero incidents
Personal Attributes
- Ability to work with through large cross-functional teams
- 2+ years' experience in manufacturing/operations experience, preferably in paper or process industry
- Experience in Fiberline operations in an integrated facility with capability to improve operations in a sustainable fashion
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with ability to collect, distill, and analyze data to identify key insights
- Ability to recognize potential issues, identify alternatives, and make recommendations based on data
- Demonstrated team/group facilitation experience - meetings, knowledge sharing, problem solving, etc.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a preference of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the pulp & paper industry operations and engineering
- Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of assets in scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and process optimization
- Demonstrated experience in projects and implementation of project activities.
- Travel is expected to be 50-75%
The anticipated salary for this role will be $120K - $180K.
