We are looking for Resident Mentors with high character and excellent relational skills to mentor and show a high level of intentionality and integrity to our residents and join our Resident Care team. This opportunity is one of the essential pieces of our organization. The Carpenter Shed is seeking Resident Mentors who love helping people and want to build a meaningful life-changing relationship to help these young men navigate through independently and fully alive.
About Us:
The Carpenter Shed is seeking qualified support workers with experience in group homes and/or the behavioral health field to be a part of our team as a Resident Mentor. Our ideal candidate would have previous experience in a mentor-type role with well-rounded knowledge of various behavior issues and addiction/recovery processes, specifically working with the male youth.
The Carpenter Shed is a unique faith-based, transitional living program for young men located on Cheniere Lake in West Monroe, LA. We are dedicated to helping young men, typically between the ages of 16 and 20, find meaning in their lives. We want to give these men the tools they need to build a life of purpose. Here at The Carpenter Shed, they can find freedom from the chaos and confusion life can bring and discover their aspirations and identity in safe, sober environment.
Responsibilities:
- Highly intentional with mentorship amongst all residents
- Assistance &/or oversight of residents in preparing meals
- Assistance &/or oversight with cleaning of resident rooms and common areas
- Hold accountability on residents’ personal hygiene
- Some medication monitoring
- General oversight of the residents at the facility
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
