Emerge is seeking a motivated and flexible IT/Office Assistant to join our team in Manhattan, New York. This role is integral to supporting our Client Company's IT team by managing and organizing office equipment, aiding in onboarding processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of our office environment. A willingness to learn and a proactive attitude are essential, as the role covers a variety of tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management and Inventory Reconciliation:
- Organize existing office equipment.
- Determine which items are for electronic waste and ensure safe, policy-compliant disposal.
- Review current equipment, including checking asset tags, taking photographs, and examining invoices.
- Prepare end-of-life equipment for initial stock sales.
- Transport equipment for repairs or quotations and manage unlocking of devices
- Handle organizing shipments and pickups.
- Streamline the onboarding process for new employees on site and based on the West Coast.
- Tag and log new equipment upon arrival.
- Maintain and repurpose existing equipment (assessing condition, erasing data, cleaning before redistribution).
- Assist with basic IT tasks, such as connecting peripherals under the guidance of our internal team.
- Team Support: Provide necessary support to team members in different time zones to ensure they are integrated and not overlooked.
Inventory Reconciliation:
- This initial stage will extend over a longer period (e.g., every morning for 2 to 4 weeks, aligned with the European time zone).
- Reviewing current equipment, which involves checking asset tags, taking photographs, and examining invoices.
- Preparing end-of-life equipment for initial stock / used equipment sales.
- Transporting equipment to a hardware store for repairs or quotations and unlocking devices, which might require presenting invoices.
- Organizing shipments and pickups.
- Streamlining the onboarding process for new employees onsite.
- Tagging and logging new equipment upon arrival.
- Maintaining and repurposing existing equipment, which includes assessing the physical condition of devices, erasing data, and cleaning them before redistribution.
- Assisting with basic IT tasks (no advanced IT skills required), such as connecting cables, printers, TV or other hardware under the guidance of our internal team.
