Your Impact
Riverbend Veterinary Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Your Role
- Patient admission, taking a history, reviewing health reminders, preparation of vaccines
- Patient restraint for examination and procedures, trimming nails, drawing blood, basic grooming
- Patient discharge, reviewing patient care at home
- Phone reception and client communication
- Dispensing, labeling, reviewing medications
- Billing and processing payments
- Lab procedures such as running the blood machines, preparing slides, performing urinalysis and fecal samples
- Preparation of patient and of surgery suite for surgeries, processing of surgical instruments and packs, monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery
- Positioning and restraint for radiographs, proper technique and use of the X-ray machine
- Routine cleaning and organizing of the workspaces
Your Experience/Skills
- A Bachelor’s or Associate's degree is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience working with dogs and cats in a Veterinary, animal care setting, or other format
- Open and positive thinker who demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and dedicated to animal welfare
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated prior work experience in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures
