Essential Functions:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the engineering and operations departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.

Leadership and Team Management: Provide effective leadership to the engineering and operations teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Budget Management: Oversee budget planning and management for the E&O departments, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently to meet operational needs and objectives.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing electric utility operations, including environmental, safety, and reliability requirements.

Asset Management: Develop and implement asset management strategies to optimize the performance, reliability, and lifespan of the cooperative's infrastructure and equipment.

Project Management: Direct and oversee major capital projects and initiatives related to system upgrades, expansions, and enhancements, from conception to completion.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with engineering and operations activities, including cybersecurity, natural disasters, and other potential threats to system integrity and reliability.

Member Service: Collaborate with member service teams to ensure timely and effective response to member inquiries, complaints, and service requests related to engineering and operations issues.

Technology Integration: Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in the electric utility industry and oversee the integration of innovative solutions to improve system performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

Workforce Development: Develop and implement workforce development strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent within the engineering and operations departments, including training programs and succession planning.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including members, regulators, board of directors government agencies, vendors, and industry partners, to support cooperative objectives and initiatives.

Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure the cooperative's ability to effectively respond to and recover from natural disasters, severe weather events, and other emergencies.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate the performance of the engineering and operations departments and provide regular reports to senior management and the board of directors.

Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the E&O departments, promoting the implementation of best practices, process improvements, and efficiency measures.

Community Engagement: Represent the cooperative in the local community and participate in community outreach activities to enhance the cooperative's reputation and support its mission and values.
Qualifications and skills required:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, management or other related disciplines.
-
10+ years of electric utility experience.
-
Driver License required.
