SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

On-site position, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

Salary range $64,000-$69,500/year (exempt). Salary based on skills and experience

Up to 8% annual bonus potential.

A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU AT HH:
-
Develop a classroom schedule that includes reasonable transitions and considers each of the individual students' needs in the class.
-
Initiate and maintain a program book for each student, including all objectives outlined in the IEP, objectives agreed upon by the school team in areas of communication, occupational, physical and speech therapy, academics, and behavioral.

Provide instruction and supervision to students in the classroom.
-
Maintain regular contact with the families of the students.
-
Supervision of the instructional teaching assistants
-
Always maintain client confidentiality.
-
Other duties as assigned.
LAND THIS OPPORTUNITY BY HAVING:

ISBE Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement, and Educator endorsement for appropriate age group
-
Experience working with children 3 - 21 years old.
-
Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, including autism.

Strong interpersonal skills.
-
Computer skills in the use of Word processing, internet, and electronic mail software.

Knowledge of learning methods, instructional methods, and techniques.

Ability to evaluate information against a set of standards.

Excellent time management skills.
-
Self-motivator and takes initiative.

Occasional movement of students by wheelchair or other mechanical devices.

Fulfill all necessary training requirements, including but not limited to crisis management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about to assist clients/students, access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).

Consistently position self to maintain files in file cabinets or assist clients/students.

The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
