Job Summary
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team on site at our HQ in Menlo Park. This role involves provisioning, configuring, and maintaining our state-of-the-art Intelligent Agents edge compute hardware platform, on which we deploy our advanced edge-native AI systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in expanding our ability to scale the product, ensuring efficiency and innovation in our hybrid software deployment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision and manage hardware resources for AI and robotic applications.
- Configure and maintain networking equipment to ensure reliable and secure network operations on the edge.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage applications in Docker containers orchestrated using Kubernetes clusters.
- Collaborate with software, vision, and hardware engineers to optimize application performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, networking, and containerized environments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of infrastructure automation tools and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that drive value and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong Unix skills, including proficiency with Bash scripting and SSH
- Experience with network booting and provisioning using PXE (Preboot Execution Environment) and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automation tools.
- Experience with networking protocols and configurations, as well as working with network hardware from popular vendors such as Fortinet and Cisco.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on scalability, process optimization, and security.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
- Experience with industrial camera systems and streaming/storing large volumes of data is a plus
