Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator/Sales Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating projects and experience with PlanSwift or similar software. This role requires a deep understanding of the contracting industry, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to secure new business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating:
- Accurately prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial painting projects using PlanSwift or similar software.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to determine material, labor, and time requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner, ensuring all required documentation is included.
- Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to generate leads and secure contracts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and client meetings to understand project requirements and provide expert advice.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations and sales pitches to potential clients.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure smooth project handoff and execution.
- Provide support throughout the project lifecycle, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure estimates are aligned with actual project performance.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all estimates, bids, and sales activities.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating and sales within the contracting industry.
- Proficiency in PlanSwift or similar estimating software is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the construction industry terminology, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment:
- This position requires frequent travel to project sites and client meetings within the Columbia, SC area.
- Must be able to work in various conditions including indoor and outdoor environments.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines and client requirements.

Pay: $58,626.00 - $68,094.00 per year
