The Gastroenterology NP works closely with the supervising physician to coordinate a course of treatment for patients: perform histories, physical exams, order labs and interpret results to formulate a diagnosis or treatment plan. The Gastroenterology NP will see, diagnose and treat patients for a variety of GI conditions including abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, dysphagia, constipation, diarrhea, GI bleeding, elevated liver enzymes and other GI complaints. Lastly, the Gastroenterology NP will prescribe medication; perform procedures, round at the hospital and any other duties as assigned by supervising physician. This may include pre and post operative care, patient education and discharge.
