We are looking for an Accounting Assistant. This is a fast-paced industry and a willingness to learn and ability to adapt are ideal.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
· Post invoices and credit notes and ensure they’re coded correctly in the system
· Attach the correct documentation to invoices and reconcile purchase orders to invoices received
· Prepare monthly supplier statement reconciliations
· Communicate with relevant suppliers to process invoicing or payment queries
· Deal with external and internal queries by phone and email
· Prepare and process supplier payments and ensure that a senior Finance Manager has signed off on all payments
· Investigate and resolve outstanding creditor items
· Waiver request from vendors
· Utilizes payroll data from B2W (Bid-to-Win) to prepare payroll for almost 100 employees, down to 50-60 during winter
· Prepares union reports using company’s accounting software (Visual Job Cost) to send monthly payments to unions
Required skills
· 3-5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry preferred
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
· Experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping
· Experience with Accounts payable, Invoicing
· MS Office experience with a focus on Excel
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
