POSITION SUMMARY
The full time (40 hour per week) YMCA Nutrition Services Truck driver will manage the products, vehicles, and routes assigned to them. Every day the driver is expected to assist with the loading of all trucks in an efficient and accurate manner. Drivers are then expected to run their assigned route to include unloading product in designated areas. This position requires substantial physical effort as well as the usage of high-level customer service and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Drive and deliver orders to sites within a specific time frame using 16- and 26-foot refrigerated box trucks with hydraulic liftgates
2. Unload product from truck in designated areas according to customer directions
3. Ensure delivery order is accurate and all paperwork has been completed and collected
4. Maintain all posted TN Dept. of Transportation Laws
5. All other duties as assigned, including non-driving tasks within the warehouse and production facility
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be at least 25 years of age.
Must have valid Driver’s License, CDL preferred.
Must be able to perform repeated manual lifting of heavy items over 50 pounds and be skilled in the usage of 2-wheel dollies.
Ability to manage frequent stops and navigate local area with ease
Ability to drive safely and work efficiently during inclement weather conditions
Minimum of 6 months commercial driving experience or 3 months of food service delivery experience
Previous customer service experience preferred
Proficient in the usage of smartphones and navigation apps
Able to pass a background check and drug screen
Ability to work between 5:30am - 6pm with rotating Saturdays 9 - 12pm
