Overview: As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the logistics and operations of our company. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the incoming and outgoing shipments of goods, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and procedures. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Operations:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying the contents against purchase orders or invoices.
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
- Sort, label, and store received goods in designated areas.
- Shipping Operations:
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate packing, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate shipment schedules and logistics to meet customer and organizational deadlines.
- Arrange transportation and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software or manual systems.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with records and address discrepancies.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments regarding shipment statuses, delays, or issues.
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols when handling shipments, including hazardous materials if applicable.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, customs requirements, and international shipping standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk or similar role in logistics or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, including packing, labeling, and documentation.
- Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments and inventory.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages and operate material handling equipment (training provided if necessary).
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
