Human Resources Manager
Divine Enterprises INC., founded in 2002, specializes in innovative logistics solutions across the U.S. and Canada, serving a variety of industries. With a state-of-the-art fleet and advanced technologies like two-way temperature monitoring and real-time asset tracking, the company excels in high-value, temperature-controlled, pharmaceutical, and Hazmat shipments.
Now, the company is looking for a passionate and talented Human Resources Manager to join the team and drive continued growth and success. You will play a critical role in managing all aspects of human resources operations to support the company's mission, goals, and objectives while ensuring legal compliance.
As an HR Manager for Divine Enterprises, your responsibilities will include:
Compliance & Policy:
- Ensuring compliance for the Human Resources department;
- Advising managers and CEO on the interpretation and application of human resources policies, DOT Regulations, and Federal and State Laws;
- Preparing an annual review of the employee handbook to ensure alignment and compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
- Knowing and understanding Divine Enterprises driver qualification standards, Department of Transportation Regulations, Federal and State Employment Laws, and OSHA regulations.
- Executing daily practices that support those qualifications standards and regulations;
- Obtaining annual/quarterly updates on Department of Transportation Regulations, Federal and State Employment Laws, and OSHA regulations.
Employee Relations & Development:
- Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the human resources services and programs offered to Divine Enterprises employees, drivers, and contractors;
- Conducting surveys, assessments, training, and team-building events needed for the company;
- Conducting disciplinary actions, annual reviews, training, and compensation reviews of all personnel, drivers, and contractors.
- Processing workers' compensation claims.
Administrative & Reporting:
- Utilizing computers and computer systems to set up functions, enter data, or process information, while ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are followed to the highest standard;
- Keeping retention of personnel files according to the standard;
- Submitting timely renewals on Workers' Compensation, Occupation Accident, Benefits and 401k;
- Processing personnel timesheets for Payroll;
- Conducting internal and external audits and participating in audits of other departments within the company.
Recruiting & Onboarding:
- Utilizing social media platforms, and job posting boards needed to promote and advertise Divine Enterprises company brand and job openings;
- Developing and reviewing job descriptions;
- Conducting interviews via phone or in person and distributing company information regarding potential employment opportunities;
- Recruiting, interviewing, screening, and making contingent offers of employment to qualifying potential candidates: office staff, and drivers who meet DOT, insurance, and Carrier hiring standards/criteria;
- Conducting background investigation on all candidates, verifying information is correct & accurate;
- Working with applicants to gather needed information that will assist in completing the application process;
- Explaining all offer terms to employees and independent contractors;
- Providing candidates with information regarding compensation, benefits, policies, and procedures, to ensure the candidate is well informed and to promote a positive image;
- Providing orientation and assessing applicant’s skills and qualifications during processing and disqualifying as needed;
- Executing conditional offers of employment or issuing denials of employment to non-qualified applicants via professional phone interaction or other means of communication, and recording information as determined by regulations or Company standards;
- Answering incoming calls and inquiries generated from various sources such as ads, billboards, networking, etc.;
- Coordinating applicant transportation to the orientation site or other accommodations needed for/during employment.
- Engaging Driver Management and Divine Enterprises personnel as required to assist with transportation;
- Constructing personnel files, ensuring all required forms and information are complete, accurate, and updated in the course of employment;
- Maintaining/updating applicant database and providing reports as requested such as sourcing reports, applicant tracking, and other recruiting-based data as directed by management;
- Proposing, and implementing company process improvements to keep a low retention rate of drivers and staff within the company;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What will set you up for success:
- 2-3 years of human resource generalist experience required;
- HR Bachelor’s degree or HR Generalist Certification preferred;
- Skilled in training, team building, facilitating problem-solving, and conducting internal investigations;
- Working cooperatively and productively with others and contributing to a positive organizational culture;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office;
- Able to type 35 wpm minimum;
- Strong internal and external Customer Service skills;
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English;
- Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Punctual with a strong attendance history.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 per week
