Job Description
- Knowledge of a wide variety of instrumentation used in the operating room and throughout the Hospital.
- Ability to operate all OR sterilization and processing equipment, to prioritize and organize, and to work independently with consistent supervision.
- Receives instruments from decontamination area and processes appropriately.
- Performs physical and environmental duties as designated on a routine basis, including but not limited to cleaning the workspace, instrument room, workstations and carts, emptying biohazard wastes and monitoring all equipment.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of instrumentation used in the operating room as well as throughout the hospital.
- Ability to operate all sterilization and processing equipment, prioritize and organize the department and assignments, and to work independently and as a team.
- Will rotate weekends.
Requirements
- 4 years' experience in a hospital setting.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Sterile Processing Certificate.
- BLS – Preferred.
Education
- Required - CRCST - Cert-Cert Reg Cent Ser TECH International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management Or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician issued by The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
