Investment Planners, Inc./IPI Wealth Management, Inc (IPI) is an independent broker/dealer and registered investment advisor that partner with financial advisors enabling them to meet their clients’ wealth management needs. We are seeking a qualified, personable candidate to lead IPI’s Accounting and HR functions.
Essential Functions
· Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and independent contractor commission payments
· Establishes and maintains strong accounting controls sufficient to ensure compliance with regulation and mandates of all governing bodies, both internal and external
· Prepare and publish timely monthly and annual financial statements, including the month- end/year-end closing process, journal entries and management reports
· Perform analytical reviews of the monthly operating results to ensure the reasonability and accuracy of reports
· Regulatory reporting and filings including, net capital, FOCUS, SSOI and Form Custody and year end regulatory financial filings with EDGAR, FINRA and various states
· Identify and execute key regulatory updates issued by the IRS, FINRA, or SEC
· Coordinate annual audit and tax return preparation working with outside CPA firms. Responsible for audit deliverables for both internal audits and audits by external regulators (FINRA, SEC, etc.)
· Preparation of the budget and variance reporting
· Prepare bi-weekly payroll including the management of tax and benefit deductions, time-off accrual, oversight of quarterly payroll filings and annual W-2 forms
· Perform HR functions including recruiting, candidate interviews, new employee onboarding, employee file maintenance, annual review coordination, management of the open enrollment process and remaining abreast of new legislation related to employment law and pay requirements
· Maintain all Corporate records and coordinate of the annual Board of Directors meeting

· Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches
· Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and able to solve complex problems
· Sound business judgment and strong decision-making ability.
· Ability to respond effectively and timely to internal customers while providing exceptional service
· Strong learning agility and the ability to create/improve processes and procedures
· Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook). QuickBooks experience desirable but not required.
Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. CPA preferred.
· 5+ years in increasingly significant controllership or finance roles
· Significant experience with GAAP accounting and SEC and FINRA regulations
· Series 28 preferred. Must obtain license within 6 months of employment
