Production Manager

Our client is a manufacturer specializing in producing equipment used material handling and moving of personnel in industrial settings.
Job Summary:
We are actively interviewing for a Production Manager to lead our manufacturing and assembly operations as well as our warehousing. The successful candidate will manage a team of 10-15 hourly employees and will be responsible for overseeing mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assembly processes. This person should have a firm understanding of manufacturing best practices, lean principles, and how to effectively grow a strong culture of quality and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and Managing the Production Team:
- Lead and manage a team of 10-15 hourly manufacturing employees in the assembly and refurbishment of industrial equipment.
- Evaluates subordinates and reviews their objectives and performance.
- Creates and implements training schedules for selected employees.
- Develops employee's career path, provides coaching and counseling to subordinates, and cross training of team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and regularly training staff on the latest manufacturing techniques and safety protocols.
Manufacturing Best Practices, Analytics, Safety, and Inventory:
- Implement and refine manufacturing processes based on lean manufacturing principles to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, anticipate problems, and implement corrective actions to ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
- Develop and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment that aligns with industry standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to align production plans with company objectives and customer demands.
- Maintain high-quality standards and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Create and sustain a positive work environment that encourages team building and employee engagement.
- Coordinates small group activities and encourages Kaizen participation
- Implements and adheres to all ISO-9000 procedures
- Monitors, tracks, and verifies production activities on the shop floor utilizing the available production recording tools
- Constructs, plans, implements, and performs follow-up on a preventative maintenance program for production.

- Advises higher-level management on work related problems on the assembly line and their impact on productivity and/or the customer
Qualifications:
- AS or BS Degree, preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in a related industry.
- Strong technical acumen with a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assembly processes for equipment.
- Proven track record of implementing effective lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Proficient in data analysis and using metrics to guide business decisions.
- 5S-Lean Six Sigma Trained & a Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
