Indoor Air and Asbestos Safety Technician AST – Industrial Hygiene Division
TTI Environmental, Inc. is an integrated environmental services contractor and consulting firm. TTI services government, industrial, commercial, academic, financial, and private clients nationwide and is headquartered in Moorestown, New Jersey. TTI is seeking a full-time Indoor Air and Asbestos Safety Technician (AST) to join our Industrial Hygiene Division. Ideal candidates will reside in Northern NJ or NYC Metro regions. Candidates from surrounding areas are encouraged to apply as well. This is a remote position – you will be working from home and in the field with occasional trips to TTI’s Moorestown HQ office.
Indoor Air and Asbestos Safety Technician AST Responsibilities
- Perform air monitoring and contractor oversight during asbestos abatement projects
- Inspection and on-site monitoring for asbestos, mold, lead paint and indoor air quality
- Conduct detailed surveys for asbestos, lead based paint, right to know, and mold
- Maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment
- Technical report writing and interpretation of analytical data
- Assignments are of varying complexity and under direction of a project manager
- Timeliness, time management, ability to meet deadlines, and responsiveness to emergencies is vital
Indoor Air and Asbestos Safety Technician AST Qualifications
- New Jersey Asbestos Safety Technician certification is required
- High School Diploma, mechanical/trade school and/or college degree preferred
- Current EPA/AHERA building inspector accreditation preferred
- Lead licenses preferred
Indoor Air and Asbestos Safety Technician AST Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience
- Willingness to work limited weekends and second shift
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
- Independent thinking and self-motivation are essential
- Must be able to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment and use ladders
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of general building mechanical systems and building construction
- Willingness to learn, complete training, and obtain various certifications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a pre-employment screening and physical
- Must be a US citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Shift: Day and evening hours with occasional weekend work and overtime hours if desired.
Compensation: $25-30/hour commensurate with credentials, education, and experience with ample opportunity for overtime pay.
