Position Title: Engineer
Reports To: Assistant General Manager/General Manager
Hotel: Staybridge Suites (DFWGR)
Location: Grand Prairie, Texas
Position/Hours: Full-Time
Position Summary:
This position is to ensure that all maintenance requests are attended almost immediately to maintain the highest standards in the hotels guest comfort and safety. Oversee Engineers and Engineer department. All guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas should always be in full functionality.
Direct, coordinate and perform routine, preventive, and emergency interior/exterior maintenance and repairs to achieve optimum efficiency and economy of hotel operations. Day to day maintenance is an important factor to keep the down time to a minimum.
Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Familiar and complies with the hotels mission and standard in maintenance activities.
- Represent the engineering department during daily, weekly, bi-weekly meetings.
- Prioritize, plan, schedule the maintenance work.
- All issues whether it being guest or associated related must be taken care off immediately.
- Must be able to make minor electrical repairs like switches, ballasts, outlets and light sockets.
- Must be able to make plumbing repairs by exchanging parts such as faucets, toilets, valves, and other electrical items.
- Understand company policies related to fire panels, sprinkler systems, main switch off valves.
- Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs.
- Must have knowledge of company emergency policies and be able to assist everyone during any emergency.
- Train engineering department staff on correct maintenance procedure and assists in repairs as needed,
- Make minor HVAC repairs, touch ups and sheet rock repairs.
- Maintain pool keeping in mind safety standards and city codes and regulations.
- Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
- Help Set up and breakdown Meeting spaces
- Utilize Quore per IHG brand standards
- Responsible for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all plant and mechanical equipment rooms.
- Ensure property, grounds, physical plant, and work areas are maintained to standard and that all safety equipment and conditions are to code.
- Discuss with GM/Nimbus Hospitality Management Executive on maintenance status and inspection reports.
- Establish and maintain department equipment and supply inventory levels appropriate to property requirements.
- Maintain, monitor, and test hotel’s emergency and security systems like fire alarms, CCTV, etc.
- Ensure that department has adequate stocks of materials, equipment and tools and are kept in a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure proper use and periodic maintenance of all equipment.
- Interact and be friendly with guests while working on issue to help divert guest focus and attention on other items other than the issue being fixed.
- Reporting all items fixed are to be noted and send a daily report to upper management.
- Ensure maintenance staff is wearing proper uniforms with name tags and upholds hotel’s grooming, hygiene, and safety standards.
- All other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager, General Manger or Nimbus
Hospitality Management Executive.
REQUIREMENTS
Prerequisites:
Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering with positive attitude. Good communication skills and committed to delivering a high level of customer service. Be knowledgeable about job position.
Punctual, courteous, friendly, and efficient. Must be physically well to perform the duties on the job successfully due to bending, carrying or other heavy work that may be needed. Willing to work flexible hours according to upper manager head request or demand of hotel occupancy. Learn and have knowledge about hotel regarding pool room, electrical room, elevator service room and know where the locations of important rooms are located on the property including all electrical and plumbing.
Experience:
2 year of maintenance experience in engineering hotel department or another related field is preferred.
1 year of Hotel Chief Engineer experience
IHG knowledge of brand standards and requirements set forth by IHG
