Position Description:
A teacher at HSA-Belmont will inspire young minds, build strong interpersonal relationships with students and share a commitment to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential. This person will:
- Design, prepare and deliver dynamic lesson plans and instructional materials that engage students in 21st century learning experiences
- Provide opportunities that challenge students to think critically
- Create a developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
- Has a mindset of using restorative justice approach with discipline
- Monitor progress to ensure all students are demonstrating high rates of growth
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse social-emotional, cultural, economic and ability backgrounds
- Work closely with team members and parents to best meet the needs to students
- Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
- Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
- Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Illinois Professional Educators License

Duties:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Math lessons to students of various levels
- Create and implement effective instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials
- Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning experiences
- Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal growth
Skills:
- Strong Mathematical education background
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of education administration principles and practices
- Familiarity with special education strategies and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to educate and inspire students through engaging teaching methods
- Experience in mentoring students to help them achieve their academic goals
- Experience in higher education teaching is a plus
