ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are hiring a team of direct service providers to support a young man with a developmental disability to reach his daily living and long-term goals. Our client lives in his own home in the community in the Live Oak neighborhood of Santa Cruz. He requires significant ongoing support with managing chronic pain and self-aggression, and is staffed at a 2:1 staff:client ratio.
Applicants should possess significant experience working with individuals with behavioral issues. Behavior technician/RBT experience preferred, but not required.
Because our client requires round the clock care by two support staff we are hiring for a number of positions on his support team. These include morning, evening, and awake overnight shifts 7 days a week. Both part-time and full-time job seekers are welcome to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1 year of experience working with clients with behavioral issues in either a home, community, school, or clinical setting.
Possess a CA driver's license and insurance to transport the supported individual within the community. The supported individual will provide the vehicle used.
Possess a US work authorization and pass a Live Scan background check.
Santa Cruz Supported Living will conduct in house CPR/1st aid certification for applicants who are not already certified.
Though not a requirement of the position: Behavior technician/RBT experience preferred, but not required
SALARY
Non-exempt, hourly position. Position may be full or part time depending on applicant availability. Occasional overtime as needed.
Base range: 25-27 hr
Behavior technician/RBT experience 27-32hr
Behavior technician/RBT and leadership experience : 32-35 hr
BENEFITS
Employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible to participate in SCSL benefits which include: health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Full time employees earn 40 hours of sick time per year, and part time employees earn 30 hours.
Full time employees earn 24 hours of vacation time per year which can be used, cashed out, or rolled over. Vacation hours will increase to 40 hours per year as of 1/1/24.

JOB DUTIES
Providing direct-service support to individuals in their homes and in the community by providing supervision, training, companionship, behavioral support, and other duties deemed necessary by the client or the client’s circle of support.
Provide ongoing direction and coordination of Supported Living Services with both the client’s SLS team as well as their extended circle of support. Ensure Santa Cruz Supported Living staff, family, and other care providers are working in concert towards the client’s goals.
Works as part of the Case-Management Team (along with House Lead, Facilitator and Directors) to ensure the integrity and functioning of house systems.
In partnership with the Case-Management Team, ensures consumers receive all necessary support in a manner consistent with person-centered planning and supported-living regulations.
Assists in the implementation of all components of the client’s behavior intervention plan including: proactive strategies, reactive strategies and de-escalation procedures. Work to identify and respond to behavioral antecedents. Maintain an active role in adapting and refining the client’s behavior intervention plan under the direction of their Case Manager.
Ensure that client goals, services, medication, and behavioral plan notes are documented promptly and accurately.
Assists the client in identifying and achieving personal, behavioral, educational, or vocational goals as per the Individual Service Plan (ISP)
Assists with household duties such as cleaning, cooking, and household management to maintain the household in accordance with the guidelines determined by the consumer, and consumer’s circle of support.
Provides necessary support for the client to meet personal needs.
Participate in all mandatory ongoing training.
Support the client in ongoing management of medical needs including: medication disbursement, managing chronic conditions, recording and reporting medical data, and medical advocacy.
Makes all decisions based on agency Vision and Values Statement.
Completes all other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
