Assistant Food Service Manager
Shorehaven has long been known for providing excellent care to the seniors we serve. This position is located in the kitchen of its 5-star Health & Rehabilitation Center, where you will have the opportunity to help assure residents enjoy nutritious and tasty meal choices. Responsibilities of this position include:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, responding to special requests, questions and concerns
- Assist with menu planning, and in evaluating diets served (Knowledge of special diets strongly preferred!)
- Manage the preparation and service of all meals, ensuring quality and nutritional standards are maintained
- Assist in cooking and meal preparation as needed, especially in the absence of staff
- Plan and place food order, assuring appropriate supplies are available to meet menu requirements
- Train and evaluate staff; prepare monthly schedule.
Shifts will vary between 6 am – 2:30 pm and 9:30 am – 6 pm, with a full-time schedule that includes weekends only as needed to fill in for staff.
We are seeking applicants with a minimum of 1-2 years’ cooking experience in a large-scale food service operation and Serve Safe Certification. Evidence of leadership skills, and ability to use menu software are required.
