Oakley Self Storage has an immediate opening for a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Manager to join our team. Our Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager in managing all aspects of store operations, driving financial success, and building great teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with retail sales and customer service, and will be motivated to create an amazing work environment and customer experience. This is a full-time hourly position of 40 hours per week, with advancement opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
As a full-time Assistant Manager, you assist the Store Manager in every aspect of the daily operations of our self-storage facility. You will be the face of the store to our customers, allowing you to utilize and sharpen your strong customer service skills. You will also have the opportunity to gain valuable management experience, as you will work hand-in-hand with the Store Manager to operate every aspect of the store, and to build an amazing work culture. Candidates must be reliable, personable, and motivated to succeed. The primary duties are managing the facility, renting storage units, selling retail merchandise, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a first-class facility, and assisting with basic facility maintenance. Assistant Managers will also learn to operate our best-in-class property management software.
Essential Functions:
- Provide exceptional customer service to current and potential customers.
- Answer phone inquiries from prospective tenants, and convert phone inquiries into site visits.
- Show property to prospective tenants, explain terms of occupancy and provide information about facility.
- Convert showings to signed leases.
- May be required to be outdoors for extended periods of time.
- Handle accounts receivable, including calling on delinquent accounts.
- Some physical activity which includes daily property walks, cleaning units, and other light maintenance.
- Reports to on-site Store Manager.
Requirements:
- Successful candidates will have 2+ years experience in customer-centered, selling environments.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach or mentor team partners.
- Previous self-storage experience is not required, we will train.
- Must be comfortable working alone on some shifts.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to work at multiple facilities (sister facility Brentwood Self Storage is less than 5 miles away).
- Must pass a company provided background screening.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Weekend availability is required.
