Position: Robotics Technician
Department: Press Shop
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday, Saturdays Possible
FLSA Status: Hourly
Supervisory responsibilities: None
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Operate and tend to fully automated press forging cell(s).
- Analyze and improve production processes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Perform die changes and new job set-ups. Verify jobs are set up correctly and safely.
- Troubleshoot forging flaws or quality issues and make recommendations for improvement.
- Test and debug robotic cells to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Monitor and tend to die lubrication system(s).
- Ensure quality and production requirements are met, as per job standard in PLEX.
- Perform basic maintenance of forging press and supporting equipment. Escalate repairs or breakdowns as necessary. Document all maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, production, and maintenance to resolve technical issues and improve overall performance.
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all safety and PPE policies.
- Perform all material handling duties of raw material, finished goods and scrap for forging cell(s).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Ability to follow directions exactly; conscious of safety at all times; excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must be comfortable working around heavy machinery and heat. Must work well as a team as well as independently.
Education Requirements: High school diploma required, technical degree or higher preferred.
Experience Requirements: 2+ years working with industrial robots and automation systems. 2+ years of forging experience preferred but not required.
Skill Requirements: Strong communication skills (both oral and written) for instructions, memos, etc. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Great attention to detail.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand 100% of the time if necessary. Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 50# approximately 30 times during the day. Must be able to tolerate heat in the summer months.

- Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $100,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 48 – 56 per week
