Sr. Claims Administrator Job Summary:
The Sr. Claims Administrator is responsible for providing superior multi-line claims service to agency-defined premier commercial and personal line clients. Senior Claims Administrator will oversee the direct handling by the insurance carriers and will collaborate with internal agency departments to identify risk management strategies to maintain a pro-active service approach. The Senior Claims Administrator performs the essential functions of the position noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency.
Qualifications for the Sr. Claims Administrator:
- Minimum of five (5) years Commercial and Personal insurance claims experience.
- Property & Casualty license required.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing, to explain claim issues, to receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
- Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
- Knowledge of insurance products, markets and underwriting procedures.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment that may include conflict.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Confident, self-starter who works well independently.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Essential Functions for the Sr. Claims Administrator:
- Manage premier client claims that require direct communication with clients, carriers and internal agency departments.
- Assist and direct clients on claim reporting serving as a liaison between carrier representatives and the client.
- Reviews coverage to discuss concerns and provide guidance to clients and to ensure proactive handling by carriers.
- Prepare and when required, participate in client claim reviews either in person or via telephone.
- Provides regular claim updates to clients, identifies exposures, potential loss concerns, and recovery opportunities, and monitors claim reserves.
- Maintains detailed documentation of all client and carrier correspondence and coverage assessments.
- Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient client service and documentation support.
- Maintain cordial and effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts.
- Provide assistance when needed to other team members.
- Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.
- Share information that can improve agency operations or improve technical skills.
- Keeps up to date with industry information, legislation, coverages and technology to improve knowledge and performance.
- Actively seek ways to improve client services and communicate ideas for improved client service.
