Our firm seeks an experienced Senior Tax Manager with a drive to interact with and manage clients. Our office is in Midtown Manhattan, NY with flexibility to work partially remote. Our ideal candidate will oversee and review preparation of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns. The candidate will work directly with junior staff and partners. In addition to tax return review, the position requires client interaction and management, tax research and tax advisory responsibilities. Our firm continues to grow and the opportunity to reach Partner is very present. We are looking for great people that have a strong interest in tax.
Responsibilities for Senior Tax Manager:
- Supervise and coordinate junior staff in preparing individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and tax-exempt entity tax returns
- Preparation and/or review of tax projections, sales tax returns, and other tax forms
- Manage and facilitate tax audits including responding to tax notices, corresponding with auditors, and organizing client files
- Tax research related to more complex tax situations and/or changes in tax law
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to colleagues and strategize how to capitalize on changes for specific clients
- Communicate directly with clients to serve specific needs and identify potential value-added solutions
- Assist with the training of junior staff and review their work performance on an ongoing and annual basis
- Work directly with partners and colleagues to maximize firm efficiency and act as an internal resource based on knowledge and experience
Qualifications for Senior Tax Manager:
- 5-12 years of tax preparation experience, including management of individual, fiduciary, and business clients
- CPA License preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master’s preferred
- Proficiency in ProSystem Tax or Axcess Tax
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master’s preferred
License/Certification:
- CPA (Preferred)
- Enrolled Agent (Preferred)
