Job Summary:
As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare professionals and providing high quality patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to support patient care, delivery, and facilitate efficient workflow within the healthcare facility.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and escort them to be seen by provider.
- Answering phones in a friendly and professional manner.
- Give assistance in the preparation of forms relating to patient information, medical data, and insurance coverage.
- Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, processing insurance forms, and scanning medical documents.
- Maintaining patient communication throughout the day, through the different platforms (e.g. email, phone, apps).
- Review paperwork to ensure the patient is registered correctly.
- Collect co-payments/ past-due balances.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and protocol to uphold patient safety and confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform daily reconciliation of patient payment and ensuring compliance with established deposit procedures.
- Additional duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
