This position is responsible for the following:
- Timely multi-state bi-weekly processing of in-house payroll for a mid-size company.
- Maintaining payroll information, withholding federal, state, and local payroll taxes, processing voluntary and involuntary deductions, and preparing special reports for management.
- Working closely with the Accounting Department to provide wage and tax information.
- Coordinating and communicating payments for state and federal agencies.
- Investigating and resolving payroll issues and payroll discrepancies.
- Answering payroll related questions and concerns for employees.
- Acting as a liaison between EPS payroll division and 401k provider to include reporting and assisting in annual 401K audit.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of employment laws pertaining to payroll, garnishments, Federal and State liens, multistate payroll issues and taxes.
- Running tax forms (W-4's) at year end.
- Utilizing various software that includes 401k file reporting, Direct Deposit banking, and distribution of employee paystub information.
Requirements
- Must be able to run an in-house payroll (Knowledge of ADP preferred).
- Strong knowledge of payroll procedures and payroll taxes.
- Associate Degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Bilingual English / Spanish is a must.
