Process Automation Engineer I/II
Our client is seeking a Process Automation Engineer with responsibility for the design, programming, monitoring and maintenance of production and facilities process automation systems. Job duties include configuration and support of Rockwell Software applications, resolution of automation equipment issues and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in a GxP regulatory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, development, and deployment of automation solutions for on-site equipment
- Provide run-the-business automation equipment of manufacturing systems including after-hours on-call
- Write and edit design documentation, both functional and detailed specifications
- Assist with the start-up, commissioning, and validation of automation systems
- Monitor existing system performance and implement industry best-practice improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred (Engineering or Computer Science)
- Automation manufacturing systems experience (3-5 years)
- Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk software systems required
- PLC and HMI programming experience required
- Technically, detailed oriented
- Skilled in troubleshooting, enjoys solving problems
- Understands technical details of manufacturing systems
- Displays excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Is a self-starter that is internally motivated
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with FactoryTalk Batch automation systems desired
- Experience and support for 21CFR part 11 and Good Manufacturing Practices desired
- Experience with Siemens PLC automation systems a plus
- Experience with ANSI/ISA-88 batch process control standards a plus
Work Environment:
- This position mainly operates in an office environment with occasional work on the plant floor
- The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
