Job Description:
Groome Transportation is seeking to hire a Lube Tech for our location in East Point, GA!
*Up to $20 per hour!*
Role and Responsibilities
Support the operation of the campus shuttle and/or airport shuttle maintenance services
- Report any and all maintenance issues to the Fleet (Shop) Manager or Director of Maintenance.
- Maintain equipment to OEM standards.
- Utilize Fleetio software to input repairs, work orders and monitor PM intervals.
After hour on call as scheduled.
- Additional on call required during inclement weather.
- After hour driver emergencies to include roadside emergencies.
- Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Familiarity with and competency in use of computer diagnostic software to troubleshoot and repair engine failures.
- Ability to learn Cummins Insite, Ford IDS and Basic OBD2 scan tools to troubleshoot diagnostic trouble codes.
- Ensure repairs noted on DVIRs are completed in a timely manner and DVIRs are signed off and passed along to the Fleet Manager/Director of Maintenance.
- Ability to operate floor jacks, hydraulic lifts and Power Tools.
- Ability to Remove and install tires.
- Sign off for Parts delivered to shop after hours and report to Fleet Manager/Director of Maintenance the next day.
- Complete all safety-related issues prior to next shift.
- Work at the direction of the Fleet Manager/Director of Maintenance, Operations Manager and/or Vice President of Fleet Services.
- Maintain required licensing including but not limited to drivers’ license, ASE certifications and Medical Card.
- Complete training as directed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, Class B CDL with P endorsement preferred
- Must obtain CDL within 90 days of employment where heavy duty CDL buses are operated
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the transportation mechanic field
- ASE certification or equivalent technical or trade school
- Able to utilize Microsoft office Outlook and the internet
- Must be able to pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
- Complete pre-employment background check
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout the day, as well as bend for extended periods working on low area equipment

- Basic working knowledge of the following systems: HVAC, air, hydraulic, exhaust suspension, transmission, engine, brakes, electrical, oil and water
- Diesel mechanics must have working knowledge of the DPF, DOC, DEF, SCR, DPF regeneration and turbo VGT actuator systems
- Working knowledge of the heavy-duty suspension system to include: wheel seals, King Pins, air bags, rotors, and gas shocks.
