Job Description/Duties
At Ms. Ruby's Peach Cobbler Cafe managers are responsible for ensuring that their store is operating efficiently, and to guarantee superior leadership skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing and overseeing employees to ensure goals are being met in all aspects of the store especially sales goals. In addition to that managers are required to make sure all guests receive outstanding customer service and exceed company expectations. All incoming managers, assistant general managers, and general managers will receive training and guidance to set you up for success!
Duties:
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Train new kitchen staff on proper food handling and safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service
- Manage food costs and minimize waste
- Handle customer complaints or concerns regarding food quality or service
- Complete Catering Orders with customers and ensure you and your staff are prepared to forfill the customers order on time.
Expectations:
Employees must be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time and also be able to comfortably stand in areas that are often hot, for example near fryers, ovens, stoves, and steam tables. Managers must ensure that all recipes are being cooked accordingly and in a timely manner without losing quality. They also must be able to communicate respectfully and effectively to both employees and customers. Organization skills and paying attention to detail is a skill we require all of our managers to possess. Our ideal manager/asst. general manager/ general manager has great problem solving skills, the ability to adjust to different environments and changes, and someone who can be a positive leader and roll model.
Other Skills:
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably as a Kitchen Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Proficient in using kitchen equipment and tools
- Familiarity with POS
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of bartending is an plus
