We are looking for individuals with apartment maintenance experience, construction experience, general handyman skills, or entry level skills with basic general "handy person" knowledge.
- Complete apartment turn-over by using painting, basic plumbing, and general organizational skills to make an apartment ready for the next move-in.
- Ensures that company standards are met.
- Provide excellent customer service for residents and vendors utilizing communication, scheduling, and follow-up in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with Property Manager or office staff to ensure proper scheduling and completion of assigned tasks.
- Ensures that on-call maintenance and emergency responses are completed or addressed as required.
- Maintains professional boundaries with all residents, employees, vendors, contractors, and external customers.
- Collaborates with Property Manager to ensure that resident concerns are appropriately addressed in a timely manner.
- Responds appropriately during crisis situations.
- Follows and enforces all fair housing and local landlord and tenant laws and regulations.
- Participates in appropriate community and neighborhood meetings.
- Work occasionally outside normal business hours to respond to the needs of the property
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Able to interact effectively with diverse and vulnerable populations.
- Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver’s license and insurance).
- Work in a collaborative manner and in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with vendors or outside contractors.
Minimum Qualifications of Position
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work.
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing.
- Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade.
- Ability to use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.
- Define and solve problems.
This position is a part of our rotating after hours on call emergency service. On call rotates among several maintenance positions within Seattle.
