POSITION PURPOSE
The Procurement Manager, Non-Wovens is a key member of the Procurement team that will impact our material supplies and cost structures directly. This role will work across all businesses to deliver best-in-class sourcing strategy and program development/maintenance where it applies to packaging. The incumbent is responsible for all strategic and operational management of a $60MM annual applicators component category spend across multiple material groups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
The Procurement Manager is responsible for the strategic procurement of non-wovens raw materials for PDI. The position will serve to support the successful execution of PDI’s respective business strategies while meeting or exceeding the Procurement Organizational performance goals related to Total Procured Value (i.e. TCO, supply surety, average DTP, and supplier partnered innovation/business growth).
Category & team leadership – Packaging Procurement:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies (including risk mitigation plans) for all non-wovens material groups; hands-on strategic owner for some material groups
- Negotiate commercial terms, execute and manage supply contracts
- Select, develop, and manage supplier base; maintain vendor scorecards
- Continuously monitor relevant commodity market conditions, trends, and activities
Provide procurement support to all basic business activities:
- Support timely new product developments & launches
- Procurement subject matter expert for non-wovens across PDI
- Work cross functionally to deliver on RFQ/Procurement cost savings projects
- Support and/or lead vendor / item transitions
- Continuously manage procurement elements of BPCS (ERP system)
Partner with Packaging Technology Group & ‘Innovation’ suppliers:
- Drive top-line business growth via supplier generated / facilitated innovation
- Identify & deliver on packaging optimization cost savings projects
- Maintain vendor scorecards
Periodic tracking & reporting:
- Category strategy plan
- Monthly commodity feedstock reports
- Monitor PPV report; provide category specific spend and performance analysis
- Quarterly procurement report including KPI dashboard
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 10 years of strategic sourcing experience in relevant consumer packaging material groups
- 6+ years procurement management experience
- Hands on strategic and operational procurement experience with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, moderately structured consumers goods organization
